Some 45,000 dockworkers at East and Gulf coast ports are returning to work after their union reached a deal to suspend a strike that could have caused shortages and higher prices if it had dragged on.
Oil futures settled higher on Friday, with U.S. and global benchmark prices posting gains of more than 9% for the week, as tensions in the oil-rich Middle East continued to flare in the wake of Iran's missile attack on Israel earlier this week.
