A man was fatally shot early Saturday in Portage Park on the Northwest Side.
Around 4:30 a.m., the man, 20, suffered a gunshot wound to his hip in the 5600 block of West Addison Street, Chicago police said.
He was dropped off at Community First Hospital, where he was initially in critical condition but later died, police said.
No one was in custody.

A 24-year-old man was fatally shot during a physical altercation in River North early Saturday morning, Chicago police said. During the fight, which occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. Saturday in the 0-100 block of W Hubbard Street, the offender pulled out a gun and shot the victim, police said. The injured man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was then pronounced dead, according to police. Detectives are currently questioning a person of interest.
