The Border Patrol agents involved in the fatal shooting of nurse Alex Pretti have been placed on administrative leave, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller sheepishly admitted Tuesday that border agents "may not have been following" proper protocol when they shot and killed ICU nurse Alex Pretti -- who Miller previously described as an "assassin" and a "domestic terrorist."
U.S. Border Patrol shot Patrick Gary Schlegel after he fired at agents during a foot chase, officials said. The FBI's local office is working with the sheriff.
