Comparing smart lock quality & security? Look for these standards

To answer those thorny questions, we consult the ANSI and BHMA standards bodies, both of which provide ratings about the long-term physical capabilities of a lock. But what do those ratings mean, and why doesn't every lock manufacturer use them?

Let's dig deeper.

BHMA director of standards Anthony Gambrall Understanding ANSI ratings ANSI, the American National Standards Institute, is a nonprofit organization that dates to 1918(!). It represents hundreds of thousands of companies and manages standards for a vast array of products, ranging from the size of a piece of paper to the way nuclear power plants should be cooled.

Anker's USB-C power bank with built-in cable is a steal for just $13

It just so happens that Anker's Zolo power bank is only $12.94 at Amazon right now. This thing is normally $26, but it's listed as on sale with a 40 percent discount plus an additional on-page coupon for 17 percent off, dropping its price by a whopping half.

What makes this Zolo portable charger the one to get? Well, it has a 10,000mAh capacity, which should be enough for about two full recharges of a smartphone. It's not super huge, but it's more than enough for a power bank you're paying less than $13 for.

The Anker Zolo portable charger delivers a maximum of 30W charging, which makes it a good pick for both Android and iPhone owners. The built-in USB-C cable makes using this power bank so much more convenient, too, since you don't have to carry a separate cable. This one plugs back into the power bank and becomes a carrying handle.

Next to the built-in cable, this Anker power bank has an additional USB-C port and USB-A port on the side. It also has a digital display built into the front that shows charging progress and remaining power.

Honestly, this is a steal. For the price of a Chipotle burrito, you can have a powerful portable charger that you can easily take with you anywhere you go. It's just $12.94 on Amazon, so don't miss this deal!
