Harvard sued and asked for a restraining order less than 24 hours after the Trump administration had said it would block current and future international students from attending the university.
The Trump administration has already asked the Supreme Court to block an earlier version of the order on efforts to reorganize the federal bureaucracy.
This comes in response to a lawsuit Harvard filed on Friday morning, challenging the Trump administration's abrupt move to revoke the school's ability to enroll foreign students.
