Taylor Swift Thanks NFL Boyfriend Kelce for ‘Fun and Magic' at MTV VMAs
Kevin Mazur/Getty ImagesTaylor Swift thanked her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, after winning the top prize at the MTV Video Music Awards Wednesday night, in a rare vocal nod to their very public partnership.

"I would always hear someone cheering and ‘whoooo' from across the studio where we were shooting it," said Swift in an acceptance speech, for Video of the Year which she won after self-directing the video for her song "Fortnight." "And that one person was my boyfriend Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic."

The mere mention of Kelce's name prompted a round of elated shrieks and screams from Swift fans in attendance, with the decibel volume likely on par with the Chief's Arrowhead Stadium crowds. The singer, fresh off an endorsement of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, added she "will always remember" Kelce's jovial attitude on the shoot.

Kamala Harris Sweeps First Batch of Post-Debate Polls by 23-Point Margin
Adam Gray/REUTERSBased on the first batches of polls released in the day following Tuesday night's presidential debate, Democratic nominee Kamala Harris appears to have outperformed Donald Trump in the eyes of viewers, who totaled over 57.75 million last night.

In three polls so far collected by the polling aggregation site 538, a majority of people who watched the debate said that Harris had won. On average, among the polls conducted by CNN, YouGov and SoCal Strategies which 538 cited, 57 percent of respondents said that Harris won, compared to 34 percent who favored Trump. Snap polls released in the debate's immediate aftermath fell broadly in the same way.

(In an interview following the debate, however, Trump told CNN that his performance had earned him 92, 86, and 77 percent approval or preference ratings in three polls provided to him. He did not cite the polls to which he was referring.)

Where's Melania? Trump's Wife Nowhere to be Seen Before Debate
ROBERTO SCHMIDTFormer President Donald Trump arrived in Philadelphia for his primetime debate with Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris with an entourage of MAGA royalty.

But there was no sign of Melania Trump in Philadelphia Tuesday ahead of her husband's hotly anticipated debate with his Democratic rival Harris.

It's unclear where the former first lady was planning to watch the matchup unfold, though television cameras following former President Donald Trump's every move failed to capture any sign of her as the Republican hopeful's entourage exited his private jet Tuesday afternoon.

Trump Wanted Them Dead: Exonerated Central Park 5 Speak at DNC & Fight to Defeat Trump
We end today's show in conversation with New York City Councilmember Yusef Salaam. He was one of five teenagers from Harlem — four Black and one Latino — wrongfully accused and convicted of raping and nearly killing 28-year-old white investment banker Trisha Meili in 1989. Meili had been jogging in Central Park when she was assaulted, and the accused teens became known as the Central Park Five. They faced a barrage of racism from the public and news media during their trial, including from real estate mogul and future U.S. president Donald Trump. All of the boys were convicted and served at least six years, with one, Korey Wise, having been tried as an adult, spending over a decade in prison. All were later exonerated after DNA evidence corroborated a separate man's confession to the attack. Redubbed the Exonerated Five, four of the five members addressed the Democratic National Convention last week, slamming Trump, who called for their execution and says he still believes the men are guilty, as hateful and dangerous. "The reality was that we were guilty of the color of our skin," says Salaam, who successfully ran for city council last year.
