Trellix Stinger Portable (formerly McAfee Stinger Portable) 13.0.0.388
McAfee Stinger Portable is designed to detect and remove specific viruses. It is not meant to be a stand-alone antivirus solution to protect your system but more of a specialized tool to try to remove viruses from already infected systems. It's a niche tool that any tech would want to have on their thumb drives, etc. We have had success with it. [License: Freeware | Requires: 11|10|8|7 | Size: 394 KB ]

These microlasers light up your food - and then you can eat them
Scientists have reimagined the meaning of a "light meal," creating microlasers that use natural products to emit illuminated beams through food. And they're completely edible. These mini lights, the first demonstration of laser emission from an entirely edible system, could be harnessed for everything from environmental sensors to food safety trackers and bio-barcodes.

How to use a VPN on Apple TV
The Apple TV is one of the best streaming devices you can get right now to add Netflix, Disney , Max and other streaming apps to your boring old TV. It costs more than the competition, but it offers a more polished experience (the screensavers are worth the price of admission) as well as more privacy protections.

One perk of Apple TV you may not know about is its support for several native VPN apps. You can use a VPN to unlock shows, movies, and sporting events that are usually restricted to other territories. If you use a VPN to change your IP address to a different virtual location, you can fool streaming sites into changing what content they make available. Here's how to use a VPN on your Apple TV and why you might want to install one.

How to use a VPN on Apple TV As of the September 2023 release of the tvOS 17 software update, the Apple TV platform supports third-party VPN apps. Setting them up is easy; just follow these steps (these may vary slightly between VPNs):

In the Apple TV App Store, search for the VPN you want to download or search for the keyword "VPN" to see your options.

Download and install your chosen VPN.

Sign up or log in.

Choose a server location in a different country.

Once the VPN is up and running, return to the home screen and run the streaming app of your choice. In some cases, it will give you access to a new set of programming options based on your new virtual location.

What are 'mirror cells' and why do some scientists warn against creating them?
For people with two hands, one is usually dominant. On a molecular level, life takes this to the extreme. All of the DNA in earthly living things twists to the right, whereas the protein building blocks favor a kind of left-handed chemistry. But in recent years, scientists have worked toward a kind of mirror version of life. The technology to make mirror life likely won't exist for at least a decade. Still, a group of concerned scientists published a 299-page technical report calling for a stop to the science. New York Times science columnist Carl Zimmer explains how a mirror microbe could wreak havoc on life on Earth in the future.

Check out the full technical report and Carl's full article.
