A fast-moving wildfire near the Tahoe region has exploded to roughly 2,500 acres, with evacuation warnings now in effect for California communities near the Nevada border.
Customers in the "targeted high-fire-threat areas" were notified that their power would remain off throughout Wednesday until the risk subsides. (Aug. 30)
