What Germans really think The German people could be poised to reprise the post–World War II Wirtschaftswunder (miracle economy), which made Germany Europe's economic engine, but to unleash this potential the government must have the courage to push through reform. Despite the politicians' reluctance to address these urgent issues, an extensive on-line survey with more than 170,000 respondents suggests that the country's people already have the energy and willingness to revitalize its stagnant economy.
The take-away: Germans are ready for economic reform that could promote growth. Are their leaders ready to make the tough decisions?
